In October 2016, The UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) acknowledged by letter to a number of CBD sellers that there are significant health benefits associated with CBD. As a result they came to the conclusion that products containing Cannabidiol (CBD) will require a medical marketing license if being sold with a recommendation or claim of medical benefit. CIITECH proprietary products and those licenced for sale in the UK, we do not make medical claims, nor do we sell products claiming to be medicine.
We understand medicine to be a compound that has undergone required pharmaceutical human clinical trials to be approved for NHS prescriptions.
CIITECH sells ‘food supplement’ products that contain natural plant cannabinoids. Our products do not contain synthetics. CIITECH is a new company and as such has not been advised by the MHRA to obtain a license, we will be working in full co-operation with the MHRA to ensure that all of our products comply with all existing and new rulings.
The range of CIITECH products and brands utilise both extracted whole plant oil from industrial hemp. Independent clinical research has shown that CBD can help maintain a person’s well being by supporting the body’s endocannabinoid system.
